WORKSHOPS

Our workshops are designed to help you start working with clay.
The very first step is to introduce you the types of clay out there! There are many different clays, but they will all fall into one of two categories, earthenware clay or stoneware clay. We’ll get to know the differences between those two clays.

We’ll teach you the basics of pottery, wedging, trimming, different techniques of working with clay on and off the wheel and how to handle clay for a fun and engaging experience working on a pottery wheel.

We’ll work on different sizes and you can create your own custom pieces- mugs, vases, bowls, ashtrays and more! this is your time to shine!

The pieces you build here will remain in the studio until they’re naturally dried (bone dry stage). Then, we fire them in an electronic ceramic kiln where they first go into a 950 Celsius, it will make your hand-made pot strong enough to apply a pottery glaze. The next step is glazing the pieces. Once the pot is glazed it is ready for its final firing, the glaze firing where they go into 1200 Celsius.

You can choose between the following types of workshops:

A one-lesson workshop

in which you visit us and build your own pieces. Following this, we’ll do the glazing and you’ll get the pieces afterwards. The time of the workshop: two hours long. Quantity: You’ll get to make 3 to 4 pieces.

A two-lesson workshop

Our workshops comprise of two lessons; one for building and one for glazing. in which you visit us and build your own pieces. Following this, you’ll get the chance to glaze or paint your pieces. The time of the workshop: two hours for each lesson.

A 5-lesson package/experience

We delve deeper into the pottery making process which includes advanced building techniques in different shapes and sizes and trimming the pieces for a perfect finish. In the 5th lesson, you’ll get to glaze all of your pieces. The time of each lesson: two and a half hours. Quantity: 8-10 pieces.

Please note:

Similar to how we learn about clay, we also dedicate the final 10-15 minutes of each lesson within the workshops to learning how to clean the wheel and all of the tools.

All in all, our workshops present a great opportunity for you to not only learn how the pottery world functions but also to enjoy yourself, let loose, and learn how to be more relaxed and in control of your emotions all while creating your special handmade pieces that will become an integral part of your home and your identity!

Please come wearing comfortable clothes, and shoes!

Whichever workshop you choose, keep in mind that we require the full payment upfront in the first lesson.
